Albert Ngwana, a seasoned lawyer, is well versed in international trade and finance. His experience which spans over 40 years, has seen him transacting businesses on a global basis.
A native of Cameroon, Albert Ngwana came to the United States after completing secondary school education in Paris, France at College Stanislas. In the United State, he earned a Bachelor’s from SUNY Buffalo in Economics and a Juris Doctor and an MBA from St. John’s University in New York. He became a citizen of the United States and has engaged in significant and successful business ventures in Africa throughout his career. He has worked on issues related to the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and other bilateral agreements between the USA and Africa or Europe and Africa. He also performed law reform services in the late 1990’s in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region (economic community encompassing 14 sub-Saharan countries) for civil society betterment.
For over 25 years, Mr. Ngwana has developed expertise in doing business with more than 30 African countries, through relationships with partners in the USA, Europe and the Far East to achieve meaningful results. Mr. Ngwana is fluent in French, English and Spanish and these skills have helped him in performing his social ,political and entrepreneurial skills which are so essential to the conduct of business in Africa.
Significantly, he has developed a problem solving approach, based upon strategies that result in win/win solutions for all participants. He believes that a PPP/BOT/DBOT or BOO with a good exit strategy and risk mitigation is currently the best approach for African nations with great potential, but over indebted. Nevertheless it is his belief that Africa is too rich to be overseen or neglected by serious investors.
Mr. Ngwana’s background as an African/European and United States trained professional has influenced his understanding of the dynamics of the global business environment, gaining him the ability to overcome business challenges that conventionally prevented the realization of significant projects in Africa.
